Delivering a future fit digital ecosystem to allow the Medivet marketing team to better deliver on business needs.

Medivet is one of the largest chains of vet clinics in the UK, and are growing rapidly year on year. With 18 24-hour centres and over 280 veterinary practices around the UK, Medivet are a community of passionate veterinary professionals committed to providing truly exceptional care.

With ambition for continued growth, Medivet were acutely aware of the need to upgrade its online offering to recognise their existing valued clients, whilst support the onboarding of new clients and promoting its overall brand profile.

Our Involvement

Medivet invited Filter Digital to work in tandem with another agency to review their current digital ecosystem and present back our results. As part of this combined work, customer journeys, data foundations and marketing technologies were all considered in order to recommend a new future fit digital ecosystem for the marketing team to enhance the client experience and deliver on business needs.

The Vision

The aspiration for Medivet is to provide a customer-centric approach, placing each Medivet client at the heart of all engagements; driving seamless experiences across all channels from a single unified view of each client. This allows Medivet to present tailored and personalised communications based on client engagement and actions on all platforms.


Further to defining the current data infrastructure, systems, processes, and capabilities; we set about developing a roadmap which included a recommended approach and investment breakdown for implementing the required systems, people and mechanisms to deliver this marketing vision.

Scalable Marketing Technology

Fundamental to the foundations of an enhanced marketing operation was the implementation of technologies that would allow Medivet to scale in areas such as data management, customer relationship management, client data and digital experience platforms; as well as communication delivery, social management and business intelligence tools. By conducting an audit of all platforms in the market that met their needs, we were able to recommend and work with suppliers to determine the best fit for the Medivet strategy.


Since our audit and report, we have been working closely with the Medivet teams to provide consultation, management guidance and technical expertise to support with the implementation of their marketing and digital transformation strategy. This has already led to a rollout of new platforms and features for the Marketing Team:

  • A rebranded website was recently launched using the Episerver Digital Experience Cloud™, a market-leading web content management system and digital marketing suite, which consistently ranks in the Gartner Magic Quadrant and as a Leader in Forrester Wave reports
  • New email, SMS and triggered campaign capabilities are in place through the DotDigital platform and CPaaS, driven from a central data mart fully integrated with key business systems, providing marketing automation and real time insights
  • Sprout Social has been implemented to allow for co-ordinated distribution, monitoring and measurement of communications across core social channels for all business profiles

The Future

As we move further into the year, we are continuing to work on new technologies and platforms to support the rebrand and redevelopment of key parts of the ecosystem, which will continue to reinforce Medivet’s clients at the centre of all activity. The rollout of new projects and initiatives will help to strengthen the ambition of Medivet within the marketplace, and help customers to feel that the company provides ‘Exceptional Care, Always There’.
